for somoene who is not a native english speaking person (as I happen to be unfortunately) the stories of course are very, but very difficult. But it is not only the english, it is also the way which english is spoken by the different Antagonist not only being of different ages but also of different upbringings and social backgrounds.
Agatha Christie is therefore one of the best ways to learn english from someone who does write it so well.
For me the interest in these short stories lies in the fact, that Dame Christie is still a very good observer of human nature and was very good in analising her surroundings as well as the society she was living it. Reading her stories will Show you -- step by step -- the characteristics as well as the changes in english Society the way she was able to see them. Of course she has her limitations, like everybody, but the limitations are equaled by charm, the humbleness, the seriosity and moral integrity she is always present with in her stories.
Even if a murder is not a very nice an sympathetic person. He or she is still a human being. Dame Christie never Forgets this and is ready to forgive, if there is repugnance.
